Works with: Adolescents (16+) and Adults
Nicole is a psychologist with over fifteen years of experience working with adolescents and adults in the mental health sector across public, private, and not-for-profit settings. She is person-centred in the truest sense, taking time to appreciate the individuals she works with as she gets to know them and what they hope to gain from their time in therapy.
Nicole is experienced in working with a range of presentations and struggles, including complex trauma, PTSD, emotional dysregulation, substance use concerns, anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, dissociative disorders, grief and loss, major life transitions, relationship issues, interpersonal difficulties, personality disorders, and fatigue and sleep concerns. Having worked clinically in FIFO settings, she has an appreciation for the unique challenges that working away poses to individuals and their loved ones. She also has extensive experience working with culturally and sexually diverse clientele.
Nicole brings a warm and genuine presence to the work she does. She has a passion for providing high quality, ethical psychological care to her clients, placing particular importance on the therapeutic relationship and its potential to clear a path to developing greater insight, self-compassion, and a stronger relationship with oneself.
Adopting a collaborative, whole-person approach, Nicole interweaves a mix of therapeutic approaches in her work with clients; welcoming the uniqueness of each person, their lived experiences, fears, hopes, and values. These evidence-based approaches include Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Existential Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (MCBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, and body-based therapeutic approaches. She is a certified EMDR therapist.
