Kendal is a Registered Psychologist and has been working in private practice since 2020 servicing a range of referrals including private paying, Employee Assistance Program, Mental Health Care Plan, Department of Veteran Affairs, Australian Defence Force, and Workers Compensation. Prior to this Kendal enjoyed a varied career working in a range of sectors including child protection, carer respite, aged care, youth services, homelessness, perinatal mental health, education and program development. During this time Kendal held a range of managerial and leadership roles, whilst continuing to seek opportunities to expand and strengthen her skill set as a psychologist, facilitator, coach, and consultant. Now, Kendal’s work spans two domains, private practice and corporate consulting.
In private practice Kendal helps individuals to better understand themselves, to address their limiting thoughts and beliefs, nurture their strengths and navigate challenges, building their psychological flexibility and resilience and empowering them to heal and make meaningful change towards a fulfilling and value aligned life. As a consulting psychologist, Kendal supports organisations and leaders to create psychologically healthy workplaces through the effective management of psychosocial risk, leadership coaching and sparking unique approaches to strategic alignment.
Kendal’s therapeutic approach is highly collaborative, non-judgemental and compassionate, she draws on a range of evidence-based practices, strengths-based frameworks and therapeutic skills tailored to each individual. Primarily, her approach is informed by training in trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Schema Therapy, complimented by elements of mindfulness and psychodynamic therapy. Whether the goal is managing anxiety and related conditions, depression, managing ADHD, treating PTSD, overcoming burnout, or navigating challenging life transitions, Kendal is committed to providing a safe and welcoming space for reflection, understanding, acceptance, choice and transformation
Kendal runs her own independent private practice and engages Fremantle Clinical Psychology and Counselling to provide administrative and other business services to enable her to provide psychological support to her clients.
